          Wine Review

          intro:
Gato Negro is the oldest wine range of San Pedro. It has delivered a constant quality of wine for over 55 years now. In the early years of the range, a black cat kept the winemaker company while he was working in the vineyards.
Instead of thinking the cat would bring ‘bad luck’, he decided to use the cat for the new label. And it worked, because Gato Negro is one of the biggest wine houses in the word now!

          nose:
A nose full of black and red forrest fruit like blueberries, blackcurrant and cherries. But also with a hint of herbs (laurel), flowers and a slightly sweet note of caramel.

          tasting notes:
The wine starts very good with full notes of juicy red and black fruit, mostly cherries and berries. But also with ripe plum. The middle of the wine brings out a sharper taste of alcohol. But the wine finishes with a combination of fruit, roundness, soft tannins and a good balance and acidity.
The aftertaste doesn’t stay long though.

          food pairing:
Perfect match for dishes that use a lot of tomato.

          in conclusion:
A steady soft and round Merlot wine. Gato Negro wines have a good base quality. It has a nice acidity, fruit balance, with a bite of spice and caramel.
